Savour hilltop sundowners at Tarangire Treetops

Enjoy a chilled drink while watching the sky transform with dramatic shades of orange and pink…

By Sabore Laizer
Guide at Tarangire Treetops

At Tarangire Treetops, we have a special sundowner spot called Sunset Hill, where you can enjoy a chilled drink while watching the sky transform with dramatic shades of orange and pink. After a day of exploring nearby Tarangire National Park, which is home to some of the largest elephant herds on the continent, there’s nothing better than taking a moment to sit back, relax and enjoy the iconic African sunset.

The viewpoint lies just ten minutes from Tarangire Treetops and is surrounded by ancient baobab and marula trees. When you arrive at Sunset Hill, our team will serve you with a variety of drinks and snacks while you settle in to savour the view. You might spot herds of antelope crossing the plains or parades of elephants in the distance as dusk falls and the sky gets ready to welcome a tapestry of stars.

Plan your holiday withAlfred&

Your journey will start with one of our UK team – someone like Gemma, who's travelled extensively in Tanzania. They’ll shape your ideas into the trip of a lifetime. But they won't do it on their own. They'll draw on the expertise of our contacts on the ground, connecting you to the people who'll make your holiday one you'll always remember - the rangers who'll ensure you'll spot the best wildlife, the village chiefs who'll give you a genuine insight into local life and the camp managers who can recommend the very best spot to enjoy your sundowner.
