The Klipspringer dinner: feast in your own private amphitheatre

Klipspringer is a natural, red-rock amphitheatre near Serengeti Bushtops where you can dine under the stars…

By Pantaleo Mghanga
Camp Manager, Serengeti Bushtops

Enjoy dinner in your own private amphitheatre in the middle of the Serengeti. Named for the antelopes who live in its rocky outcrops, Klipspringer is a natural, red-rock amphitheatre near Serengeti Bushtops. Guests love having dinner here under the African night sky – it’s an especially popular option for romantic occasions like honeymoons. Of course, our guards are nearby to keep you safe and you’ll be waited on by friendly staff from our lodge.

You’ll arrive at Klipspringer to find a table laid out for you, lit by candles and a nearby bonfire. Lanterns dangle from a fig tree and stars sparkle in the amazingly-clear sky. Feast on a gourmet meal tailored to suit your individual tastes, accompanied by wines selected by our expert sommelier. Often, as you dine you’ll spot nightjars landing on the rocks nearby and hear hyenas laughing, lions roaring and herds roaming across the Serengeti during migration. It’s a magical, wild experience.

Your journey will start with one of our UK team – someone like Adele, who's travelled extensively in Tanzania. They’ll shape your ideas into the trip of a lifetime. But they won't do it on their own. They'll draw on the expertise of our contacts on the ground, connecting you to the people who'll make your holiday one you'll always remember - the rangers who'll ensure you'll spot the best wildlife, the village chiefs who'll give you a genuine insight into local life and the camp managers who can recommend the very best spot to enjoy your sundowner.
